Disk Imaging
Disk Imaging
Disk Imaging is the process of making a
file which has a complete digital copy
of a all of the information on a server
or PC disk. Disk imaging creates a
digital file, a snapshot of a moment in
time, containing all of the information
contained on the original disk at the
point in which you created the disk
image. This image is used as a backup
in the event of a disaster. Disk imaging
may include data files and folders or it
may include system information,
applications and settings in addition to
data files.
A disk image should be stored in a safe
place. If some sort of catastrophic
failure occurs, such as corruption of
the original disk or a natural disaster,
the copy can be used to access the
information which is no longer available
on the original.
In order to perform complete disk
imaging, you should use software
designed to image all of the information
on your server or PC disk. Simply
copying and pasting the information to a
new location will not save your system
information, applications and settings,
which you will need to access the data
files in the event of a disaster.
StorageCraft ShadowProtect is
disaster recovery software that allows
you to safely image your computer disks
– whether on a server or a PC.
ShadowProtect provides Real-Time
Recovery of your systems and data in
the event of a catastrophic failure.
